I remember first starting out in this industry, feeling so overwhelmed with things to learn and no clue where to start. I spent years teaching myself how to do things through endless research and trial-and-error. That only got me so far, before I found opportunities to invest into my business and to learn from professionals that already had it all figured out.

At first, I had no idea there were photographers out there willing to help me out, I hadn’t heard about workshops and the whole photography community just felt like one big competition. Once I invested in my education, I learned how important it is to learn from professionals that inspire you. I saved so much time and stress by going straight to the people that know this industry in and out and I learned more in a day than I could have ever figured out on my own. I developed a new drive to chase my goals because of the way I was poured into from people that inspired me. We really are all in this together and there is nothing like forming community with likeminded photographers.

I’ve always been the type of person to never ask for help, I had this misinformed idea that I had to figure it all out on my own in order to be successful. But boy was I wrong - starting out in this industry is tough and it’s easy to get overwhelmed, but you don’t have to do it alone.

I’ve grown a big heart for helping young photographers chase their goals. I want to teach how to build and manage a business that you’re proud of. I love being able to look back on my mistakes and turn them into your successes, teaching you how to avoid problems I ran into and showing you what works for me. My goal is to provide you with the knowledge I’ve accumulated over the years and leave you with a brand new determination to transform your business.

Is there a specific area that you just can’t figure out? Want to hear how a seasoned professional photographer would approach certain things? I’ll give you all of my advice, and tangible ways to improve. This is the perfect way to see things from a new perspective and to boost your inspiration.

Example topics: booking more travel work, finding your editing style, building a local client base, website critique, back end business processes, how to jump into booking weddings, etc.

part one

Q&A! I won’t hold anything back as we dive into anything and everything you’re wanting to learn. This day is completely catered to what you’re wanting to learn most. We’ll walk through my entire process, showing you the tricks I’ve picked up and the approach I take. We can go over creating a unique brand, how I communicate in emails, pricing guides, communicating your value to potential clients, building a solid client base… the possibilities are endless. We will talk all about your goals prior to our day together to ensure that we will cover everything.

part two

Shadow me in an epic golden hour couple’s shoot. Learn my way of capturing authentic feelings and how I direct my couples into effortless moments. I’ll teach you how I approach my shoots to create a fun environment with my couples. We’ll go over how to ease into a shoot to help camera-shy people feel comfortable and tricks to help people open up in front of the camera. This doubles as great content to showcase to your potential clients.

part three

Learn my post shoot work flow as we edit after the shoot! It took me years to develop an efficient rhythm, but I now pride myself in having a seamless workflow that keeps me organized and allows me to provide a speedy turnaround. I’ll show you how I back things up to keep my files safe, tips to deliver quick previews, my editing workflow, and everything I do once the magic is sent off.
