You need Honeybook in your life!!!

I remember first starting out in this industry, feeling so overwhelmed with things to learn and no clue where to start. I spent years teaching myself how to do things through endless research and trial-and-error. That only got me so far, before I found opportunities to invest into my business and to learn from professionals that already had it all figured out.

At first, I had no idea there were photographers out there willing to help me out, I hadn’t heard about workshops and the whole photography community just felt like one big competition. Once I invested in my education, I learned how important it is to learn from professionals that inspire you. I saved so much time and stress by going straight to the people that know this industry in and out and I learned more in a day than I could have ever figured out on my own. I developed a new drive to chase my goals because of the way I was poured into from people that inspired me. We really are all in this together and there is nothing like forming community with likeminded photographers.

I’ve always been the type of person to never ask for help, I had this misinformed idea that I had to figure it all out on my own in order to be successful. But boy was I wrong - starting out in this industry is tough and it’s easy to get overwhelmed, but you don’t have to do it alone.

I’ve grown a big heart for helping young photographers chase their goals. I want to teach how to build and manage a business that you’re proud of. I love being able to look back on my mistakes and turn them into your successes, teaching you how to avoid problems I ran into and showing you what works for me. My goal is to provide you with the knowledge I’ve accumulated over the years and leave you with a brand new determination to transform your business.

Is there a specific area that you just can’t figure out? Want to hear how a seasoned professional photographer would approach certain things? I’ll give you all of my advice, and tangible ways to improve. This is the perfect way to see things from a new perspective and to boost your inspiration.

Example topics: booking more travel work, finding your editing style, building a local client base, website critique, back end business processes, how to jump into booking weddings, etc.

Let's level up your business!

Let me give ya the insider scoop

Jessie is truly the best mentor to have for photography! I went into the mentoring with Jessie thinking I’d be able to improve the quality of my pictures and maybe a few other small things but I didn’t realize that it would truly change my career. I learned everything from Jessie from the business side of photography to posing and even some fun tips/tricks for editing and much more. She taught me things I didn’t even think to ask and even created a PowerPoint filled with things that I would of never thought to ask. I never thought one full day of mentorship would teach me so much. I am so grateful for the time and experience mentoring with Jessie!

Content days & workshops

Hello, amazing & busy photographer!
You’re busy taking photos and making magic. Tending to your clients, providing an outstanding experience, and having a personal life. Editing is a tedious task that takes up too much of your time that you wish you could spend elsewhere.

I’ve edited hundreds of thousands of images in Lightroom, using my years of expertise to create an efficient workflow, providing quick turnaround times while retaining high quality work. Let me take some galleries out of your editing queue, helping you maintain that wonderful client experience by delivering galleries quicker this busy season.

35 cents per image
Includes straightening, cropping, white balance, and exposure updates on every image that needs it.
This is simply editing your full galleries in Lightroom with your edit, no advanced retouching.
Minimum of 500 photos per transaction. Payment is due before the lrcat catalog is returned.

Why should I outsource my editing?
Whether you’re drowning in editing and struggling to meet deadlines, or maybe you’d rather put your time towards other tasks in your business, or maybe you simply want to spend more time with your family and doing what makes you happy outside of your business. No matter the reason, editing is a huge time suck that you can give up.

The magic is in your editing style, your preset - the time suck is the tedious task of applying it to every image and making adjustments. The beauty of outsourcing your editing is that your entire gallery will still have all of the magic that is your unique style, and you can trust that every image will be carefully edited to your standards.

How it works
You shot the shoot:
01 | You cull your entire gallery as normal and potentially edit a chunk of the photos to send off as “sneak peeks” to your client. Whatever you’d typically do before the shoot gets pushed to the back of your editing queue.

You create the anchor images:
02 | You edit photos from each lighting scenario in your gallery, I will use these as “anchor images.” You do not send your preset, I simply use the edit on the anchor images to edit the entire gallery.

- A wedding example: you’ll edit one detail photo, one of each ready room, one of the first look + portraits location, one of the indoor family portraits, one of the wedding party photos, one of the ceremony space, maybe another of people walking down the aisle if the lighting is different, one of the changed outdoor lighting, one of the ambient light reception photos, one of the sunset portraits, one of the flash reception photos, one of the sparker exit, etc.

- A session example: you’ll edit one of the first bright golden light photos, a backlit photo, a direct sun photo, a sunset photo, and a blue hour photo - or whatever different lighting scenarios your gallery includes. It might be less, it might be more if you used multiple locations.

It may seem like a lot, but the more anchor images you include, the quicker this process will be. Assuming you’ll alter the white balance and possibly some HSL setting for each lighting scenario, you’ll want to have control over the edit of each spot. If I am unsure of how to edit a specific scenario, I’ll send you a screenshot to ask, however it will save us both time if you make enough anchor images before! A good rule of thumb is to edit anchor images for about 10% of the gallery.

You export the catalog:
03 | You’ll create smart previews for the entire gallery, allowing me to edit your gallery remotely. Export the catalog and send over the lrcat folder. I usually use WeTransfer, but DropBox and Google Drive work as well.

I edit your gallery:
04 | I will use the anchor images to edit your entire gallery. I will straighten and crop every photo that needs it. I’ll tweak the exposure and white balance on every photo to match your anchor images and editing style. Minimal spot removal can be done by request and in depth edits will typically be done by you once you receive the gallery back. I may send screenshots of images while I’m editing to make sure you like the edit if I do not have enough anchor images, however if you provide enough I can assure you that the full gallery will be consistent with your editing style.

I deliver your finished catalog:
05 | Just as you did, I’ll export the catalog and send over your lrcat folder, this time when you open it you’ll see all of your edited images. Now that I’ve done all of the tedious editing work, you’ll review the gallery, add your black and whites, then export your high quality images with your hard drive as normal.
